The design intention of N°176 was to create a petite timepiece with a contemporary look. While this watch features the classic aesthetics of Cate & Nelson, the blacked-out components give a confident, fashion-forward appearance that is certain to make a lasting impact.
Its strap made with organic vegetable-tanned leather from Tärnsjö Tannery, Sweden, transmute this watch into a sober piece of time.
For our design, we chose to remove numbers from the dial face, stamping out markings for time instead, giving the timepiece a cleaner look and feel. We gave its second hand an accent color and placed the watch crown in a more functional and user-friendly position.
We are aware of the old classic values and how technology can be too much when talking about style and minimalism; we prefer to reflect the sobriety and honesty of Scandinavian design, with nothing else but the most important details needed to be a fully functional tool.
Wearing a Cate&Nelson Watch is to carry an unembellished timepiece with a timeless design.
